Our many volunteers come to Lutheran Hospice hoping to make a difference in the lives of patients and their loved ones. They each have a gift of compassion and a caring spirit that they wish to share with others going through a difficult time.
Because each volunteer exhibits passion for other people, they can give a unique sense of peace, comfort, and support through reminiscing, conversation, or simple hand-holding. Even if it’s just a non-medical, caring presence, our volunteers remain the heart of our hospice program by delivering a level of care far beyond the physical, but to the mental, emotional, and spiritual level.
If you too exhibit a caring, compassionate heart and wish to be a hand to hold, we welcome you to request more information on volunteer opportunities with hospice in your area. You can also visit our Facebook page for more information.
We welcome you to learn more about how you can become a blessing to people in hospice and their families at one of our training and educational events.
Whether you choose to read to those in hospice care or wish to be the calming presence for family members, we encourage you to make a difference in the lives of others as they make quality memories during end-of-life care.
