Meet our Support Team:
Mr. Estes began his employment with Lutheran Homes of South Carolina in 2016 as Executive Director after ten years of progressive experience in Hospice maintaining various positions of increasing responsibilities. Greg is a graduate of Western Michigan University and has a broad background of experience in operational management, compliance, sales, marketing and business development. He began his career in hospice after serving as a volunteer. Greg has a strong passion for Hospice and Palliative care and has served in numerous roles in the community including: The Alzheimer’s Association, Rotary International, Beaufort, Jasper Volunteers in Medicine, Board of Directors and the Advisory Counsel for the Nursing School at the Technical College of the Lowcountry.
Greg is married with one child and enjoys spending time with his family, watersports and hunting.

Tameka Brigman began her career with Lutheran Hospice in 2004 as an Administrative Assistant for the Hospice Support Office. In 2005, she was promoted to the position of Director of Administrative Services and she assumed the role of CISO (Community Information Security Official) for the hospice program. In 2008, she was delegated the duties and responsibilities of being the Information Services liaison for the hospice program. She earned an Associate degree in Industrial Technology with a major in Commercial Graphics from Midlands Technical College. In her free time, Tameka enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.
Vicki McLean began her career with Lutheran Homes of South Carolina in 2009 as Accounting Coordinator for Lutheran Hospice and was promoted to Accounting Manager in 2010. Vicki has extensive experience with an accounting and billing background from a variety of facilities, including hospital, hospice and physician’s practice, as well as manufacturing and legal practices. Vicki attended the University of South Carolina, Midlands Technical College and Harper College in Illinois. She and her husband have been married for over 30 years and are the parents of two children and one grandchild, with two others on the way. They are active members of the Columbia Church of Christ, currently serving in the Children’s Ministry, and occasionally for Hope Worldwide and Homeworks projects. Vicki is also the primary caregiver for her elderly mother who is living with them. In her spare time, Vicki enjoys spending time with family, painting and craftwork.

Regina has worked at Lutheran Hospice since 2005 as the Director of Social Services and she oversees the social work, bereavement, volunteer and chaplain departments. After moving from Ohio Regina completed her graduate degree at the University of South Carolina and obtained her Master of Social Work degree and then shortly thereafter she obtained her Master of Social Work License. Regina has worked with various populations including the elderly, homeless and HIV/AIDs as a social work manager and counselor. Regina is married for almost 25 years and has a 12 year old son. In her spare time Regina enjoys spending time with her family, going to the movies and reading. Regina enjoys working with an interdisciplinary team of staff who are passionate about providing a holistic approach in serving the terminally ill and their families.

The Rev. Maria Miller began working with Lutheran Hospice / RoseCrest on March 1, 2004 as chaplain. In the Fall of 2004 she was moved to full time with Lutheran Hospice, returning to RoseCrest periodically as needed.
A native of Pensacola, Florida, Maria graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelors in Social Work and from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary with an MDiv. She was ordained in June of 2001 and served as a parish pastor for 3 years before accepting the call to Lutheran Homes.
Maria also serves Augsburg Lutheran church in Union, SC as supply pastor, preaching every Sunday and providing pastoral care for the congregation. She has also served twice as the chaplain for the SC Women of the ELCA convention and is a member of the SC Synod Council.
Maria is married to the Rev. Sean Miller (Chaplain of RoseCrest) and together they have an amazing son, Ethan.

Tammy joined Lutheran Hospice - Midlands in 2022 as the Community Outreach Director. She received an Associate in Arts from Midlands Technical College in 1998. While working in the hospitality industry, she was recruited by a local medical equipment company for a marketing position and found her passion in sales and marketing. She has been working in the senior industry since 2002.
Tammy is a two-time Brookdale Chairmen’s Club Award winner, achieving Diamond status in 2015 and 2016, an Atria Pinnacle Award winner, and most recently, after winning the Lutheran Homes TeamMate of the Quarter in 2023, she was nominated for TeamMate of the Year.
She is married with one child and enjoys boating on Lake Murray, traveling to the mountains and the coast, and loves Gamecock football.
Tammy admires the dedication of the Lutheran Hospice team, emphasizing their compassion and commitment to providing the best care for their patients.

Corynn Nichols joined Lutheran Hospice of the Midlands in 2024 as the Hospital & Physician Liaison. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky and has worked in healthcare since 2020. She has always been passionate about serving families and embracing the power of community. She enjoys educating community members about the hospice benefit and finds working in hospice very rewarding. Corynn is a lifelong learner and a passionate patient advocate.
In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors with her animals. She also enjoys participating in watersports on beautiful Lake Murray. Corynn is inspired by Lutheran Homes' mission driven, service driven, community focused approach.

Teresa Tidwell has been a social worker at Lutheran Hospice since 2013. She earned a B.A. in Psychology and completed additional coursework focusing on special education and deviant behavior of children from the University of South Carolina. She also earned a Certificate of Gerontology and a Master of Social Work from USC. She is licensed as an LMSW by the State of SC Board of Social Work Examiners.
She has worked with hospice patients and their families for 22 years. She has worked in the community as well as in an inpatient hospice house setting.
She has been a volunteer counselor for the children's bereavement camp Brett's Rainbow, has been a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, the Kids' College Program at USC, at Hendley Homes where she tutored disadvantaged youth and helped coordinate an end of the year field day for the children and their families, and she has been a volunteer at CM Tucker Center.
She has been the recipient of a Regional Circle of Care Award twice across an eight-state area for a previous hospice company in 2006. She was also named in the Biltmore Who's Who in 2008 for her work.
She has presented several times in the community about grief and loss.
Working with hospice patients and their families is her calling, and it is rewarding and is an honor to work with this population. She has also been a Field Preceptor for MSW student interns.
She and her husband have two teenage sons who are Eagle Scouts. She loves spending time outdoors.
Karen Young is a Lutheran Pastor who has served two congregations in South Carolina before taking a call with Lutheran Hospice. She has always felt a call to serve people as they are transitioning from this life to eternal life and working with Lutheran Hospice meets that call. Karen attended UNC Chapel Hill and earned a Bachelor of Arts in World Religions; she then earned her Masters of Divinity from Duke Divinity School; and continued her education by earning a Doctor of Ministry degree from The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia with emphasis in Adult Spiritual Education. She is now enjoying team teaching a course at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary/Lenoir Rhyne on “Dementia Through a Theological Lens”. Her work with Lutheran Hospice has given her the opportunity to do a great deal of study on the dementias and relate what she has learned to caring for her patients. She and her husband, Paul, have 5 daughters and five grandchildren. Her hobbies are reading, playing music, scrapbooking, playing tennis and she is an avid collector of antique marbles.
Serving the counties of Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester and Colleton:
Paula Mellichamp joined the Lutheran Hospice team in February 2013, working PRN caring for patients as needed. In December 2013, she accepted the position of Program Director for the Lowcountry office. Paula began her nursing career in 1974, and earned a Master's degree in Community Health Nursing from MUSC in 1991. During most of her 43 years of nursing, Paula has worked with children and adults in their homes. Paula has worked in the hospice field for the past 15 years, holding leadership roles in pediatric hospice, inpatient hospice, and home care hospice. She is delighted to be at Lutheran Hospice where the work of the team is a true "ministry", serving patients and their families at end-of-life.
Paula and her husband are active members of St. James-Santee Episcopal Church. They have three children and three lively grandchildren. Paula enjoys reading and she and her husband love spending time on the water - boating and swimming.

Jessica joined the Lutheran Hospice family as a volunteer in 2015. She was impressed by the organization’s mission and values and decided to join the team as a social worker. She provides services as a medical social worker and manages the bereavement program for the Lowcountry Hospice office. Jessica has a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University and graduate social work degree from The University of Tennessee. Jessica has many years of experience as a medical social worker. She worked for the Medical University of South Carolina and the Memphis VA Hospital. She has experience providing counseling to children and adolescents and continues to do so in her work with the hospice bereavement program. She is also a volunteer with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Lynn joined the Lutheran Hospice Team in 2007. A native of Ohio, Lynn moved to Charleston in 1993 to enjoy warmer winters, where she met her husband, also an Ohio native. Lynn was previously employed as a Medical Transcriptionist for 30+ years, a Medical Transcription Supervisor, and an Office Manager in a physician’s office.
While in Ohio, Lynn volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician for the EMS in her community. She currently assists her husband with the duties of Treasurer for the USS John C. Calhoun Veterans Organization.
Lynn enjoys motorcycling and watching old movies. Lynn’s daughter and two granddaughters live in Ohio. Lynn also has a stepdaughter, stepson and two grandchildren in South Carolina.
Richard McCuen joined Lutheran Hospice's Lowcountry office in 2020 as the Community Outreach Director. Richard brings eight years of similar experience with four, for-profit hospice providers in marketing and hospice education roles in the tri-county area of South Carolina. He is a 1982 graduate of The University of South Carolina in Columbia, where he also grew up before relocating to Mt. Pleasant in 1985. Richard has a strong passion for hospice care, and believes that hospice is vitally important in supporting patients and their families facing end-of-life issues. Richard has been involved in the annual Alzheimer’s Walk, civic educational presentations, attends area events and seminars, and is a longtime member of the Lowcountry Senior Network, serving on their board for multiple years. Richard is married with two sons, a daughter, and one granddaughter. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, boating, exercising, and attending sporting events.
Richard notes, “I am blessed to have found this wonderful organization late in my career, and to be a part of a great team providing end-of-life support, offering compassionate and quality care.”
