About Us

Hospice is not a place, it’s a philosophy centered on compassionate, personal care.

Lutheran Hospice is proud to provide people with life-limiting illnesses or injuries a newfound daily hope while ensuring maximum comfort and quality of life. We believe that by focusing on each individual’s goals and needs, we can help make room for more memories and moments cherished by family and friends for years to come.

As an extension of Lutheran Homes of South Carolina, Lutheran Hospice is a faith-based, non-profit mission to provide our patients with excellent care physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Believing in the presence of God, the value of human life and the dignity of the individual, the mission of Lutheran Homes of South Carolina, Inc. as a ministry of the church, is to promote the well-being of older adults by providing residential, healthcare and hospice services.

Lutheran Hospice holds true the values which extend to all of the communities and programs associated with Lutheran Homes of South Carolina. These include ministry, respect, quality, accountability, integrity, person-centered focus, commitment to employees, and a strategic market focus.

If everyone took five minutes out of their day to help someone in need or to make a difference in the life of someone else, to put a smile on their face or turn their day into a great one, what would our world look like?

With that very idea in mind, we have created a program to put in that extra effort that will touch the life of someone we serve. Whether it’s ensuring their birthday doesn’t go unnoticed or taking the time to carry in groceries for a resident, when our staff sees someone in need they see an opportunity to make a difference.

Because of this new initiative, our residents are happier, our team more fulfilled, and relationships between everyone within the Lutheran Homes of South Carolina that much stronger.
